Job Description

Are you an experienced and driven Training Manager with experience in the health and social care sector? We have an exciting new opportunity here at ENS Recruitment, based Westcliff-on-sea, Essex but remote and flexible working options available.

ENS Recruitment are a very successful Healthcare recruitment company and CQC registered provider of care and support, who have been established for 30 years.  Due to growth, we are looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Training Manager  to lead and manage the operations of the ENS Training Department.  To ensure that high quality courses are delivered to health and social care staff both internally and externally.  As a Training Manager you will be responsible for developing and delivering a range of accredited courses which meet the statutory and regulatory requirements of the health & social care sector.  You will also network and seek links with external stakeholders in order to identify opportunities for growing the profitability of the department.

Knowledge & Attributes:

  • Requirements of Care Quality Commission / Skills for Care / Skills for Health in relation to training. Experience of delivering training within the health and social care sector is essential.
  • Clinical qualification or experience of working in a clinical setting would be an advantage.
  • PTTLS or equivalent teaching qualification essential. Train the Trainer certification in a range of subject areas required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with an engaging training style.
  • Ability to write and develop new content with accuracy and creativity.
  • Driving licence or ability to travel between locations in London and South and East of England required.

Training Course Development:

  • To achieve CPD or Skills for Care accreditation for training courses.
  • To design and deliver a range of new courses in line with increased mandatory or specialised requirements, or bespoke courses as required by individuals we support or our clients. To develop a comprehensive induction, training and assessment package for people who are new to the health and social care sector.
  • To ensure that our courses are continually updated in line with any changes in legislation, statutory requirements or best practice.
  • To work collaboratively with the Care & Support Team and Health & Social Care Temp Team to ensure care workers have the required specialised training. To work collaboratively with the Care & Support Manager to ensure care workers are observed and signed off as competent.
  • Identify external courses where gaps in in-house training provisions are determined.
  • Identify opportunities to utilise funding or freely accessible courses and training programmes to develop our staff beyond the mandatory requirements.
  • To monitor training course feedback and make any required improvements.

Training Delivery:

  • To deliver high quality engaging courses to ENS and other health and social care staff in a range of settings - internally, at client premises and via online video platforms.
  • To develop a range of assessment strategies to ensure that knowledge, skills and competencies of job roles are monitored in practice.
  • Action any issues regarding candidate attendance, behaviour, safeguarding concerns or other causes of concern.
  • To monitor and assess the delivery of training by other ENS trainers to ensure quality standards are adhered to.
  • To ensure accurate records are kept during training courses.

Business Development:

  • Actively identify, source and drive new business opportunities for Training.
  • Develop and market the ENS eLearning portal.
  • Develop and market clinical/specialist training.
  • Working with ENS Business Development and other department managers to maximise opportunities to market training to other clients.
  • Attend networking events and sector specific forums in order to develop strong relationships with external stakeholders  in order to identify any opportunities to generate income by increasing our visibility in the care marketplace.
  • To work collaboratively with the ENS Marketing Team to ensure that a range of activity is undertaken to promote our training provision – social media, blogs, feedback, email marketing, opportunities for media coverage etc.

Managing Training Team:

  • Supervise and line manage the activities of the Training Compliance Administrator to ensure accurate compliance, recording, course booking and ordering of training supplies.
  • Manage a team of freelance trainers ensuring their qualifications remain up to date, their course delivery is of a high standard and that any issues are dealt with appropriately.
